Mural Project :: 2006
One of the many project ideas of the Colfax Arts Council has been to paint murals where appropriate, on the open walls of the old buildings in the historic district of downtown Colfax, Washington. The finished design for this mural (pictured below) was the brainchild of Dick Gebhardt, a member of the Colfax Arts Council.

The finished image is of the very early days of Colfax as a tiny river settlement on the western frontier. Many people took part in painting this mural,

but as you will see from the
slide show, most of the work was accomplished by MaryAnn Taylor, Debi Anderson, Bill Reynolds and of course Dick. The slide show captures only the first 3 days of painting, but there was a good full day of measuring and marking the wall before the painting began. It is amazing that they got so much done in just those 4 days! The mural is completed now and is a fabulous feature on Main Street. Stop and take a look sometime, on your way through town. 1h>
