Colfax Hangs It Up :: Part 2

This year, a “YOUTH” category was added to the competition, with 3 youth finalists selected. People’s Choice Awards went to “On the Farm” by Dylan Nails in the YOUTH catagory and “Greetings from Colfax” by Bill Reynolds in the ADULT category.

Each finalist shared a bit of information about their entry. Last year’s winner, Jerry Jones, shared that for his entry this year, “Staionary Thresher,” he had sketched the image from a photo (that he took of the staionary thresher at the yearly threshing bee) onto his banner, and then procrastinated about the actual painting. By the time he got back to paint the banner, he had misplaced the photo! He would not recommend threading the belts the way he has them painted, it probably wouldn't work properly!

Please scroll down to see images of all 12 banners, the selected entries for the 2009 competition, with the artist’s name above each.
