Colfax, WA Hangs It Up:

Colfax, WA is hanging up its reputation as a speed trap by slowing the 10,000 cars per day on Main Street with H’Art of the Palouse, Colfax Arts Council’s first annual “lamp post banner” competition! As of February 24, 2008, the top ten banners are in place on both sides of Main Street in Colfax, and will remain on display through the spring and summer of 2008.

On March 6, 2008 the Colfax Arts Council “Meet the Artist” event, at the Whitman County Library on Main Street, was a reception for the 10 banner artists whose work a distinguished jury selected to hang on the lamp posts of downtown Colfax. All banners were entered anonymously, to ensure fairness in jurying. read more»
